My name is Lisa, and I have been working with my mom at Mimi the Sardine since my vocabulary was big enough. On this blog, find updates, ideas, and other information we find interesting!
Mimi the Sardine is a small family-owned company located just north of San Francisco. We have been in business since 1988.
We strive to serve our customers well by putting earth-friendly, well-made and meaningful products on the market. If you’re looking for our website where you can buy stuff, it’s here. If you want to follow our Twitter feed, click here. Want to add us as a fan on Facebook, click here!
Our world-class Swedish designs emphasize fun, while the quality, durability, and easy care of our fabric make you and our planet happy! Our cotton has an acrylic coating (not PVC). It is permanently water, soil, and mess resistant yet remains soft and supple. Simply wipe clean or machine wash warm. Hang dry or tumble dry low.
Our coated fabrics meet the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard which certifies that our cloth does not contain harmful chemicals and components. It is highly regarded in Europe and is now gaining recognition in the United States. In 2009 we are transitioning into using acrylic-coated organically grown cotton, an important step in our continued commitment to the environment and our customers.
We strive to provide a product line which incorporates concepts of Production Ecology, Human Ecology, and Performance & Disposal Ecology. These ideas are seamlessly woven into every step of the life-cycle of our product.
